Sierra: Top 10 Things Learned During 1 Day in London

1.     People don’t smile at you – even if you smile at them first.
2.     If you ask for a soda you will receive a blank stare. Ask for a soft drink.
3.     Not only do Londeners drive on the left side of the road, but they also walk on it.
4.     You don’t leave a tip at restaurants. There’s not even a line for it. Probably because there’s very little service.
5.     On that note, if you see a ‘service charge’ on your receipt you do not have to pay it. Cross it out. Nowhere in London are you required to tip.
6.      People don’t talk on the tube. Maximum volume is a whisper.
7.     Stand on the right side of escalators. People will trample you if you’re in the middle.
8.      There are light switches to turn on your kitchen appliances.
9.     It’s illegal to stand on balconies. Why you have a balcony then is a mystery to me.
10.  Americans are 17% more likely to survive than British people in a disaster situation because they’re pushier.
